Movies Vs. Society

It is said that movies reflect the society. I have been comparing 2 movies released some years back. One is Yuva and other is Rang De Basanti.

In one movie, the students are directionless. They just eat, drink and make merry. They don't love their country, India, at all. Rather they seem to make fun of it. Someone else makes them realize that they are born in a great country and should respect it and make efforts to improve the things. Short sighted as they are, they choose the short cut and murder the culprit (the corrupt politician) And themselves get killed at the end. If one is to follow its message then it means that we should start killing people rather than improving the system.

In another movie, the students are involved in social welfare projects. They take the corrupt politicians head on via democratic means. One turns down offer for higher studies in US and another refuses the job in USA. They fight with local politician who is a murderer and corrupt via democratic means. They never plan to murder him rather they start working more energetically in telling people about their ideas and exposing that bad man. They take more painful path. They fight elections, even after all the troubles they face, and win. They become the part of the system so that they can improve it. They keep having 'that' fire burning in their hearts.

We all know which movie was hit. And we still keep blaming the politicians.
